LEGAL REGULATION OF THE ACQUISITION OF AQUATIC BIOLOGICAL RESOURCES IN THE FAR EAST

The article considers the acute contemporary problems connected with the protection of aquatic biological resources. Illegal ex-traction of rare and expensive species of aquatic biological resources in the Far East region is comparable with the amount of the annual allowable catch. Damages from the illegal export of aquatic biological resources caught in the Russian Far East territorial waters into Asia-Pacific countries range from $ 700 million to $ 1 billion a year.
