Annotation
The article examines the scientific and organizational activity of Alexei Matveevich Vladykin, a nobleman, orientalist, translator from Chinese and Manchu languages, Director of the State trade caravan sent in 1754-1756 to China, which delivered to Russia valuable artifacts of Chinese culture and history, important documents and geographical maps of the Far Eastern region.
