The article concerns the problem of facilitating the quality of higher education via the optimization of professional activities of university teachers. To solve this problem, we propose to consider the potential of continuing education of the university staff. The nature of the assistance for the teacher consists in the construction of an individual educational route and is determined by the axiological approach to the modeling of modern content and technology of the continuing education of a university instructor.
