Annotation

The major object of consideration in the given research is the nature of strategic priorities functioning in the border areas of the Far Eastern Federal District. The author demonstrates the specific character of the interaction of the borderline territories of Russia's Far East and those of Asia-Pacific region and Northeast Asia. The most acute issues and problems within this domain have been determined alongside the evaluation of both the current state of affairs and the prospects of the development of cross-border cooperation. The primary threats to national security which emerge in the course of the cross-border cooperation have been delineated.
