Annotation

The article deals with methodological challenges encountered in the linguacultural research into fiction written in Russia by non-Russian authors. Despite active linguistic studies in this field, post-Soviet researchers keep discussing this phenomenon as “literary bilingualism,” a long-standing term. The article calls for applying such terms as translingualism (in Russian) and transculturalism.

Key words: translingual Russian literature, translingualism, bilingualism, bilingual, (ethnically) non-Russian author, transculturation.
