TWO VISIONS OF THE SEQUENCE OF THE PROCESS AND THEIR INFLUENCE ON THE FORMATION OF VALUES

The article discusses major factors which determine the variations in the use of metaphorical models of traveling, “going the distance” in order to represent non-spatial relations (the comparative analysis) both in Russian and Chinese linguistic world-view. This factor is believed to be related to the vision of the succession of the process: in the Russian linguistic consciousness the local perspective prevails over the global, whilst in the Chinese – the global perspective on the chain sequence of action-events is of primary importance.
