Annotation

The notions of cultural values are broadly represented on the level of indirect nomination. In New Zealand English the process of euphemization is to a great extent determined by national cultural component in the semantics of linguistic units, as well as the tendency to use different types of abbreviations.

Key words: cultural values scale, indirect nomination, national cultural component, concept, abbreviation, New Zealand English.
