The focus on the research of hybrid poetics characterizing the works created by multicultural authors has become one of the most important and exciting areas in American Studies. This paper discusses how the classical traditions of China and the USA interact in fiction of two recognized Chinese American women writers, Maxine Hong Kingston and Gish Jen.
