The article presents the analysis of various versions of rational argumentation for the plausibility of the existence of God as manifest in the European philosophy of the 18th and 19th centuries and in the theism doctrines of the Russian Orthodox Church and Ecclesiastical Academies of the time. The contribution into the eponymous research made by Russian religious philosophers and, first and foremost, by V.D. Kudryavtsev-Platonov, Professor of Moscow Ecclesiastical Academy, has been described.
