LEADERSHIP POTENTIAL OF RAILWAY TRANSPORT MANAGERS AS CRITERION FOR ADAPTATION TO ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE

Annotation

The results of the research aimed at solving the problem of successful adaptation and preparing a manager with leadership skills in the conditions of constant organizational change are considered in the article; the paper also deals with justification of leadership potential assessment as a criterion for assessment and forecasting of further effective work and adaptation of railway transport managers.

According to the data collected from managers and students, the structure and components of a manager leadership potential are determined: the ideal model of a prospective manager leadership potential is developed, the model of real manager leadership potential is proved, main qualities and resources of manager leadership potential are specified.

The author distinguishes leadership potential as meta-quality which integrates a manager's subjective, professional and personal qualities; these qualities are complemented with socially-oriented, volitional, intellectual and moral personal resources.
