THE LINGUISTIC IMAGE OF A WOMAN IN CHINESE POLITICAL MASS-MEDIA DISCOURSE

The article is devoted to the cognitive semantic analysis of the linguistic image of a woman represented in Chinese newspaper and magazine texts. The paper forms an ideal language image of a woman in modern China, demonstrates close relationships existing between the features of the national character and axiological determinants of the ideal woman and draws a parallel with traditional values, which are attributed to the mother in the press of 1946-1966s and in the classical texts of Chinese culture. The article analyzes the use of linguistic means of manipulating public opinion in modern political discourse. Means and ways of the female image creation in print mass-media are considered.
