The article presents various approaches to defining the phenomenon of social partnership and outlines its numerous models; tendencies and peculiarities characterizing the development of social partnership system in Russia in the conditions of transitional economy are analyzed. The system of social partnership typical of Khabarovsk Krai has been studied; certain shortcomings have been detected and a number of measures which are meant to guarantee the system's proper functioning and advancement have been suggested. The latter are to prone to warrant public stability.
