THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE AS A MEANS OF INDIRECT RESEARCH AND EXPRESSION OF CHINESE POLITENESS

Irina Aleksandrovna Krizhanovskaya is a Lecturer of the Foreign Languages Department at Northeastern State University (Magadan).
The author of the article discusses the cultural conceptions of politeness as well as its historical origin. Since it is commonly accepted that the English language as a means of indirect communication is employed internationally on a vast scale nowadays, the author argues that the English language is capable of expressing almost all nuances of Chinese politeness maxims.
