Annotation

The article describes the personality innovation potential (PIP) as a complex multi-faceted construct. Much attention is paid to the analysis of modern trends in research, content and forms of system determination of PIP. The author gives the examples of research findings from the point of view of personality-based, resource-based, competence-based, psycho-semantic-based and role-based approaches.

A.D. Karnyshev's model is thoroughly analyzed in the article and is used as the basis of the scientific research of PIP.

The research of PIP based on psycho-semantic approach is held in two directions: the influence of color stimulus on PIP (Terekhova T.A., 2009) and psycho-semantic analysis of professionals' views about their own innovation potentials (Pakhno I.V., 2011).

The results of the experiments prove that the choice of color correlates with the level of PIP. The respondents with high level of PIP tend to choose red, blue and jade colors, those with low level of PIP choose white and grey ones.

The assessment of professionals' innovation potential correlates with two factors: the character of professional tasks and conditions which the company provides for the employers. If the professional experiences the support and challenge PIP will reveal. These artificial conditions were provided in the course of training program aimed at the development of PIP. The training course was made to stimulate the creativity, organizational, communicative and personal skills.

In the conclusion of the article the author formulates the aims of further PIP research: the development of holistic systematized PIP theory and description of dynamic and structural factors that determine the peculiarities of PIP in certain circumstances.

Key words: personality innovation potential (PIP), models of PIP, approaches to PIP, PIP as a system.
