Based on sociolinguistic approach and the paradigm of World Englishes, the author describes the status of the English language in India and its part in the country's movie industry. As movies produced in Bollywood are mostly exported, Indian English becomes a significant tool of intercultural communication both in Asia and other parts of the world. In this paper, lexical features of Indian English selected from the subtitles of a movie, are described and classified.
