The author considers certain problems which occur at the initial stage of the investigation of criminal acts connected with the production and sales of food products which do not meet the requirements of food safety. Efficient struggle against crime in the sphere is impossible without the resolution of these problems. As practice shows, specialists often experience certain difficulties in the process of investigating such criminal acts.
