Annotation

The paper provides analysis of the place and the role of the Korean Peninsular in geopolitical strategies of such states as China, Russia, the USA and Japan from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 21st century. The paper discusses geopolitical reasons for the split of Korea and analyses geopolitical and geostrategic factors of development of international relations around the Korean peninsular before and after the end of the Cold War.
