Annotation

The authors put forward the problem of socialization. Adolescence is a sensitive period when ethnic identification and self-awareness form. The authors consider psychological peculiarities of ethno-confessional communications of individuals within the unique conditions of the Baikal region, where representatives of different ethnic and religious groups live: Buryats (Buddhists and Orthodox Christians), Russians (Orthodox Christians and Old Believers), and shamanists.

Key words: the Baikal region, socialization, ethnic identification, ethnic consciousness, ethnic group, ethno-confessional communication, family.
