QUAZI-RELIGIONS: THE ESSENCE AND TYPOLOGY (PRESENT-DAY METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES)
Zabiako A. P.

Annotation

The article is the analysis of the present-day methodological approaches to the essence and typology of quazi-religions. Quazi-religions are the cultural formations in which the typical elements of "normative", "traditional" religions are shown but do not determine the basic content of these cultural systems. Non-religious elements prevailing in them are: ethnic, political, social, ecological, scientific, ethic, psychological, and others. The author distinguishes two groups of quazi-religions: quazi-religions which were formed in the process of transformation (degradation) of "normative" religions, and quazi-religions which emerged as religious innovations. Special attention is paid to the designing of religions through alternations of consciousness.

Key words: religions and quazi-religions, dimensioning of religion, designing religions, alternations of consciousness, transformers of mind, entheogene.
