Annotation
In the late 1990s, the co-founders of the International Stanislavski Academy in the USA, Europe, and Japan established a course in Russian Theatre within the ISA (the International Stanislavski Academy) program in the Stanislavski System. According to the representatives of Drama Schools in Europe as well as the Pacific Rim Countries, the program has won wide recognition from faculty and professionals who benefit immensely from the expertise of translators. The authors argue that one of the most adequate translations of “The Lower Depths” by Gorky was performed by Kaoru Osanai.
